Welcome to my blog and my first blog post! In this blog, I'm planning to share my experiences in traveling for landscape photography, behind the scenes stories, post-processing techniques, photography tips and tricks, and more!
For me, photography is a storytelling medium. It all starts with planning way ahead of the trip: What kind of terrain am I looking for? Is it mountains or sand dunes? Waterfalls or ice caves? Which season is best to shoot that particular place? Winter or summer? And so on... Then when I am finally out shooting, I try to tell the story of the scene in front of me and capture the feeling I have in that particular moment, all through composition and light in the field, and post-processing and editing afterward. While in the field, knowing how I am going to edit later on is vital. The knowledge and understanding of post-processing techniques only improve composing the shot in the field.
Through this blog, I am going to share how I tell a story through combining planning and looking ahead before a trip, working and composing in the field, and finally editing and post-processing. Let me know if there's anything specific you want to see, and I'll be happy to provide whatever I can!
